Have your say on leisure facilities

Let us hear your views on Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre and Harpenden Swimming Pool and Sports Centre by completing a short survey at: www.stalbans.gov.uk/consultations.

St Albans City and District Council opened Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre in St Albans just over two years ago.

We want to find out what you think of this facility and the Council’s leisure facilities in Harpenden. The deadline for completing the survey is 5pm on Monday 23 February.

The survey will only take a few minutes to complete. It includes questions about how often you use the facilities and how satisfied you are with the mix of activities and equipment available.

The survey follows a request from the Local Services Scrutiny Committee’s Leisure Facilities Task and Finish Group, set up to review performance of these two Council leisure facilities.

Cllr Anthony Rowlands, Chair of the Council’s Local Services Scrutiny Committee and the Leisure Facilities Task and Finish Group, said: “It is two years since the opening of the Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre and it is important to examine how it is performing. At the same time, the survey will gauge what residents think of the facilities in Harpenden.”

“We know the new Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre has been highly popular with residents. Attendance figures have surpassed expectations. We wish to know what users like about the new centre. We also want suggestions about how the service provided could be improved still further.”

“Please take the time to complete the survey and let us know your views. Members of the Council’s Community Panel and sports groups based at each of the facilities are also being invited to complete the survey.”

The survey results will help inform a report from the Task and Finish group that will be considered by the Scrutiny Committee on 2 April 2015.

The public can attend this meeting at 7pm on Thursday 2 April at the District Council’s offices at the Civic Centre, St Peter’s Street, St Albans. The meeting is also being webcast and can be watched on the Council’s website at: http://www.stalbans.ukcouncil.net/site/.

The agenda and papers for the meeting will be available prior to the meeting at:http://stalbans.moderngov.co.uk/ieListMeetings.aspx?CommitteeId=389.
