Closure of Blue House Hill announced

Note from Herts Highways

As part of Hertfordshire Highways’ maintenance of the county’s principal road network the A4147 Bluehouse Hill is programmed for carriageway repair during the week commencing 22nd November 2010.

Our works will consist of resurfacing and patching the existing worn out carriageway to a depth of 40mm, crack treatment and replenishing the existing road markings.

Due to the nature of these works and to ensure a safe working environment for the workforce and the general public we will be completing these works under full road closure. Details of this closure can be found below.

22nd – 24th November 2010

Working Hours:
20:00-06:00

Closure of Blue House Hill
Diversion route:
Verulam Road, High Street, Holywell Hill, St Stephen’s Hill, King Harry Lane and the reverse

St Michael’s Street (at its junction with the A4147)
Diversion route:
Branch Road, Verulam Road

There will be no parking within the works area for the duration of the works to allow for the works to be completed safely.

During the works access will only be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents with no other means of access when it is safe to do so. To avoid delay and disruption try to avoid access and egress within the works extents during the working hours.

Bus services will be affected by these works – for details of any changes you can visit www.intalink.org.uk – and look in ‘service disruptions’ in the news/service updates section.

Some degree of disruption and delay can be expected as a result of the works and whilst we will make every effort to minimise these, please allow extra time for any journeys you may make while the works are in progress. We greatly appreciate your patience and co-operation.

Herts Highways or their contractors will not approach you offering to carry out works to your property. Any cold calling of this nature by people claiming to represent Herts Highways should be viewed with suspicion and caution. They will not have Herts Highways’ authority or approval.
