HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN ST ALBANS
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14[1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads, except for access:-
3. that length of Essex Street, St Albans from its junction with St Peters Road north westwards to its junction with Clifton Street, a distance of approximately 60 metres.
4. that length of Clifton Street, St Albans from its junction with Essex Street north eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.
5. that length of Townsend Avenue, St Albans from its junction with A1081 St Peters Street south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Hall Place Gardens, a distance of approximately 264 metres.
6. that length of Avenue Road, St Albans from its junction with B651 Stonecross eastwards to its junction with Lemsford Road, a distance of approximately 537 metres.
8. that length of Hall Place Gardens, St Albans from its junction with A1081 St Peters Street south eastwards to its junction with St Peters Road, a distance of approximately 350 metres.
10. that length of Sandridge Road, St Albans from its junction with Boundary Road north eastwards for its entire length.
11. that length of The Limes, St Albans from its junction with Spencer Gate south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.
The purpose of the Order is to enable carriageway maintenance works to take place.
It is anticipated that the sections of roads will each be closed between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm (Mondays to Sundays inclusive) for up to 2 days, sometime during the period 29 August 2011 and 30 November 2011, when signs are in place. Alternative signed routes will be provided for traffic whilst the road closures are in place.
