Not content with providing a miserable, overcrowded and expensive service, FCC have now found a new way of fleecing passengers: a surcharge of 1.8% will be applied to credit card transactions.
Chris comments: ‘This is little short of theft but typical of this robber baron company. It is time yet again that their franchise was removed.’
Having called FCC, they tell me that, thankfully, this only applies to car parking charges from RingGo / NCC, not to actual train fares. Is this your understanding ??

The text message I received says nothing about car parking only. It says ‘First capital connect credit card charges start 4 January 2010.’
It is only car parks. You should note though that VAT is returning to 17.5% from 15% in Jan but their car park prices are not adding the 2.5% – they stay the same.
