Carlisle Avenue: temporary closure for one day in January

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CARLISLE AVENUE AND B651 STONECROSS, ST ALBANS

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14[1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads, except for access:-

1. that length of Carlisle Avenue, St Albans from its junction with A1081 St Peters Street north westwards to its junction with Waverley Road, a distance of approximately 391 metres.

The alternative route for traffic will be via:-
Waverley Road, Townsend Drive, A1081 (Harpenden Road and St Peters Street)

2. that length of B651 Stonecross, St Albans from its junction with A1081 St Peters Street north eastwards to its junction with Sandpit Lane, a distance of approximately 175 metres.

The alternative route for traffic will be via:-
B651 Sandridge Road, Seymour Road, Beech Road, A1081 (Harpenden Road and St Peters Street)

The purpose of the Order is to enable carriageway maintenance works to take place.

It is anticipated that the sections of roads will each be closed for 1 Sunday, sometime during the period 17 January 2010 and 1 February 2010, when signs are in place.
