Chris is pressing the county council and the police to take firm action after local residents reported that the road was closed off on Sunday morning to facilitate a car boot sale.

Chris said: ‘Apparently men in high vis jackets were stopping traffic and obstructing the right of way. The county council and the police have a duty to make sure that rights of way are kept open and prosecute those who block them.’

It is still unclear whether there will be a further attempt at a car boot sale next Sunday or what the involvement of First Capital Connect is in giving permission.
