Note from the district council

Christmas shoppers will have more opportunities to browse in the popular St Albans markets this year. St Albans City and District Council is holding more city-centre markets throughout December to make it easier for residents and visitors to do their Christmas shopping.

Additional markets will be held in the week before Christmas, with a market open every day from Wednesday 19 to Monday 24 December. The regular markets will be open on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout December (apart from Boxing Day, Wednesday 26 December).

Farmers’ Markets are taking place in the Market Place, St Albans, on Sunday 9 December and Sunday 16 December.

A French market will be held in Civic Close, near the Alban Arena, between 19 and 22 December.
