Thames Water: a correction in relation to works in Alexander, Inkerman and Bedford

Thames Water have sent us this and we are happy hereby to set the record straight.

I am emailing with regards to your article online about Thames Water working in Inkerman Road. Having been contacted by the local newspaper about this, it became apparent that the sub-contractors doing this work have incorrectly stated that they are working on behalf of Thames Water.

This is actually not our site. The developers for the new housing project have sub-contracted out to get the sewers built. These sub-contractors, P C Cooney, have put the signs up claiming to be working for Thames Water but we will have no involvement until the development is complete and the sewers are adopted into our network.

We have been in contact with the sub-contractors and the developers who have since taken down the signage and have promised to inform customers about the work that is being done and why there are delays.

For your information, this is the statement we sent to media:

“The work that is being done around Inkerman Road is being done by the developers for The London Road Project. The signs indicating that this is Thames Water work are incorrect and we are arranging to have these removed immediately. We’d like to apologise to the customers who have been misled into thinking this is one of our sites.”

And here is a link to the developer’s website:
