Timetable junked as FCC Thameslink descends into chaos – does anyone care about train users?

FCC Excuses to Passengers page (and they will still keep downgrading us to mere ‘customers’ rather than stakeholders or passengers – after all we pay the taxes which subsidise company profits on top of the outrageous ticket prices).

Revised service on the Thameslink route
We are extremely sorry that a shortage of train drivers has forced us to cancel a large number of services on the Thameslink route between Bedford, Luton, central London, Sutton,Wimbledon and Brighton. To allow us to operate as consistent a timetable as possible over the coming days, we have introduced an amended timetable.

We will endevour to adhere to this timetable as much as possible, however it may be necessary to further amend it. We will advise you of any further alterations here as soon as we can.

Further alterations for Thursday 12 November
06:05 Streatham to Bedford due 07:54 is cancelled.

Please continue to check back as services may be subject to further alteration.

What we’re doing to try and ease the situation
We are in ongoing pay talks with the drivers’ union, ASLEF. Read more about this.

Thameslink route Season Tickets will be valid for the equivalent journey on First Capital Connect’s Great Northern route (Please note that tickets will not be valid on National Express East Coast trains between Stevenage and London King’s Cross).

In addition car park permits valid at stations on the Thameslink route may be used in the following car parks operated by First Capital Connect on the Great Northern route providing they are clearly displayed on the windscreen: Huntingdon, St Neots, Biggleswade, Welwyn North, Hatfield (limited space), Welham Green, Brookmans Park, Potters Bar (limited space).

Valid First Capital Connect tickets will be accepted on London Underground and London buses on all reasonable routes.
