What an utter shambles these past few days. Now we can appreciate what Connex and C2C customers had to put up with for so long ! What constantly infuriates me is when I am waiting on Elstree station and invariably see “fast Brighton” trains tearing past without a thought to pick-up stranded passengers. It happens time and time again, and all I get told is “we can’t stop them as it will make them late and incur a penalty” Given we are in the era of late-running and cancellations anyway – is this an acceptable reason ? There were 45 minutes between northbound trains at Elstree on Thursday lunchtime which I’m sure could have been eased with a little more planning ! In short – nobody really cares a jot for stranded customers !
